In this episode, the yWhales team speak with Adam Jones, CEO and Founder, and Seth Rompelman, COO, at Token Events, a user-centered, data powered software (SaaS) company, with a crypto component. Adam and Seth discuss how Token Events is changing the live event experience with the integration of Web3 and entertainment. They explain how the platform works for fans and venues and how the data shared by the fans can be used for a more customizable experience.
About Guests
Adam Jones is a technology leader who loves building smart solutions that solve hard problems. He has extensive experience in digital transformation, Web3, integrated brand tech strategy and management consulting. His favorite part of the job is seeing an idea blossom from inception to a beautifully designed product that’s easy and enjoyable to use.
Today, Adam is the CEO of Token Fan Commerce. Prior to founding Token, Adam was a Senior Technology Director at R/GA Austin’s office, where his focus was on all technology innovation across every digital channel for Major Clients with a main focus on Web3, DLT, and Blockchain.
Additionally, Adam was a Director of Technology at Crispin Porter + Bogusky where he built everything from pizza cars to video games—all while managing a global engineering team across multiple disciplines.
With more than 21 years of experience, Adam has worked in several countries with brands such as Domino’s, McDonald’s, Kraft, and Infiniti. Finally, Adam has 10 years of experience as a Global Technical Manager for professional service and financial service firms such as CME, Bank of America, Zurich, and JP Morgan Chase.
Seth is a jedi technologist, swiss-army knife, pinch-hitter, and Token’s resident bon vivant. With a deep background in consulting and delivery leadership, most recently, Seth was a Director of Client Services with Nerdery, a custom design and development outfit in Chicago. As such, he shepherded hundreds of ideas and applications from inception through deployment: facilitating everything from requirements intake to contracting, strategy and UX phases, the (always tricky) handoff for development and implementation, agile teams optimization, and product life cycle planning.
Exposure to such a wide variety of Client roadmaps, internal capabilities, ambitions andtech stacks helped Seth learn to parse complex business problems quickly, build alignment across teams, set proper expectations, anticipate pitfalls in partnerships and custom development and to mitigate risk accordingly.
In a past life, Seth held management positions in hospitality, music & entertainment circles and lends that unique perspective to the Token vision and roadmap. As an early crypto adopter and defi enthusiast, Seth is forever optimistic about the potential for blockchain technology to create a more accessible, equitable and climate-friendly future.
